    Mark,

I picked up an indie license for Painter last month when they had it for $99, right before and during Sigraph.

    Kevin,

Yes, that was intended to be a fuel stain. I think it still needs some work.

The drop tank has 4 different material IDs but it uses 1 UV map. Painter separates things based upon the material IDs and there were 5 maps created for each ID. 20 maps. While reading the Allegoithmic forums I found a utility that, in this case, would combine maps so there will only be 5 maps to use in Modo. I think the key is that it's all one UV map. I haven't tried it yet.

Someone over on the Modo forums also pointed to a Painter tutorial from Flipped Normals.

I've looked at the preview but haven't bought it yet.

Nice details! I hate doing landing gears myself - especially the retraction mechanism. But it's awesome when it all works

All the materials are just basic Modo materials.

Update. I was seeing too many waves in the fuselage, so I redid it. Along with some other items too. Now, onward an upward, back to the engines, cockpit, etc.

The machine gun looks great and your model looks nice and smooth. Looking forward to the engines.
