Secret Projects of the Luftwaffe - Heinkel Lerche III

Post by Skyraider3D »

This month Dan Sharp is releasing his latest bookazine in his "Luftwaffe Secret Projects" series. I created the cover for it, featuring what must be the craziest airplane I ever made in 3D - and I've made some weird things the past 25 years! It's the Heinkel Lerche III VTOL nightfighter. This things is seriously mad and I guess the result is as much sci-fi/fantasy art as it is aviaton art! I hope you like it!

PS. You can order Dan's bookazine here: https://www.mortonsbooks.co.uk/product/ ... -luftwaffe

Super weird design indeed yet still recognisable shapes there for a Heinkel :)

Looks great!
But I'd expect the Mosquitoes using jet engines by then.

Thanks Trak-Tor! I did consider doing the jet Mosquito, but unfortunately the Lerche itself took way longer to make than expected. The design drawings of it look nice, but once you start translating it to 3D, quickly a *lot* of problems emerge. I made sure that everything I made is physically possible, while conforming to the design as much as possible.
