New forum, new artwork! These are a couple of profiles of North American P-51D-30-NA Mustang serial 44-74506, which flew in the 1960s Reno air races in a variety of different colours and forms as N335J, operated by Ed Weiner. I made a set of these for the 97th issue of Warbird Digest magazine. Attached are profiles of N335J as she looked in 1964, and in 1967, when she was being optimised for air racing, complete with cropped wings and tail plane and taped off(!) panel lines - plus a funky zebra colour scheme.

They look really good Skyraider. The bump map helps a lot to bring the profiles to life.

I really like the gold scheme.

Thanks guys!
These profiles are mostly 2D, although I did start out with a matt grey side view render of my old 3D model.
The Zebra was a lot of fun to do.

What modifications can be made to the Mustang N335J to enhance its speed and performance in racing competitions?

What are some bizarre and mind-boggling secret aircraft projects developed by the Luftwaffe during World War II that never saw the light of day, and what would have been their potential impact on the outcome of the war if they had been realized?
