Hey guys!
I'm new to posting here, but have been folowing Military-Meshes.com for quite awhile. True masters of the craft here and I've been inspired countless times from this sight. I have been working for a mod called Forgotten Hope for a few years now. Right now we are building a WWII environment for for the Modern combat game Battlefield 2. I model, skin, code, make coffee, etc, and my main objective when creating a new model is to make it look as detailed as possible given the restraints of the game engine. This usually leaves me about 6k poly for an aircraft or Tank, up to 8k for an AA vehicle and as low as 3K or 4K for a scout vehicle like the Kublewagen or Willys Jeep.
Making these models look like they are more poly than they are is a craft all to it's own. The best way I feel is making a high poly model and baking it to a low poly model. I've been doing this with wheels, charactor model, and just about anything organic. I'm at the point right now where I'm thinking of doing a full High poly version of the spitfire to bake to a low poly model I already have built. Browsing thru the forums here, there seems to be a missing link between the high poly models built to make iris print posters and the Low poly models build for a game engine. I personally see most of these high poly models being able to make a low poly model as long as the right procedure was applied.
I hate to jump right on here introducing myself and going as far as requesting a new forum catagory, but after reading some of the posts here, I think it could help lots of posters here. I have lots of techniques I can share, but no place to really share them.

here is a scene from the mod I'm working on... all low poly content, but the normals are making it look much higher poly. Only parts of this are High poly to low poly bakes. I was hoping with a seperate catagory, I could share some of the techniques of making the low poly to low poly content look higher resolution.
