Hey everyone,

My first post in the 3D Finished Gallery. Everything is low poly (except for the wood base); the Sturmtiger is 2585 polys. All the textures of the tank (minus the tracks) were painted on a 2048x2048 map.

The primary purpose of this project was to continue to practice texturing, which is something I desperately need more practice in.

Comments would be nice. :)

Looks nice for a lowpoly model. But concerning the textures:

-You still need drop shadow on the welds or atleast a bumpmap;)
-Desaturate the colours a bit, they are way to how do you say "colourful"

But I like the weathering on them. Maybe some small chipping of some sorts could do :)

Very nice, with exception of the rather lurid colours. Nice presentation too.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the comments. :)

I agree that the colors are too intense, so I toned them down a bit. Let me know if it is an improvement.

Also, the welds were painted on the camo layer so I can't do a drop shadow on them. Also, I don't have a bump map on this model (just a diffuse and opacity), so it'll take me a few hours to paint one. But I already started the next project which I must finish so I hope to do that once that model is complete.

Much better indeed, although brighten them up a bit too. Your base looks in full sunshine while your tank looks like it's in the shade.

Here is the result of brightening up the textures.

Originally I planned to make the scene more dynamic, with the crew of the Sturmtiger loading a round, a task which required all 5 members to participate in. However, I had several deadlines for other projects to meet which prevented this. I do want to do it in the future however.

Great Model But I Think Textures Still Are Little To Dark.

i would say that you still need to brighten them up quite a bit. at least another 40 to 50 %... at least. another thing you could do is put a light in that only affects the tank... (brighten the textures... it's easier and nicer looking)

The test subject is a good choice! Would like to see this tank in a natural surrounding.

Looking forward to the updates!!
