Great details Viktor. Pity you don't have plans to texture this ship but uv mapping all that detail would be a difficult and time consuming task.
Superb detailing on the torpedo tubes Viktor. It's a shame that you have no plans to texture Aoba though - but I do agree with Kev's comment regarding uv unwrapping.
Have you named your computer 'Kure' by any chance?:D

It looks superb and just amazing detail.
Its great see someone tackling these lesser known warships which all make great 3D subjects.

Hi.
Ahau, fortunately not. I do not like and on addition this ship plans his they are bad.
Mister Janusz Skulski, author Anatomy of The Ship Yamato, he said me that he made all plans Yamato on newly and it will give soon improved version. I will begin maybe then thinking about making this ship.
I like the battleships of type Kongo, and the most Hiei

viktor,
I was just wondering what/where are the reference materials you used to make this model.
I am only asking because I am trying to confirm the # of rudders she had and what configuration they were in.
thanks for any help

Hi.
Aoba was built on basis of plans Miyukikai and pictures from books about ships Japanese, such how Kojinsha and Maru Specjal.
Greeting,
Viktor

so did you ever see a photo of the IJN Aoba's stern out of water. one showing the rudders??
I am looking at building a 1/144 scale rc cruiser and was looking for one with dual rudders. most have just a single rudder though.
thanks,
sarge
