I have a problem, I want to animate a tilting canopy, like this:
When the canopy "Object B" tilts up/forward, it slides (pushes) the top of the canopy in over the roof (straight forward) instead of tilting with the rest of the canopy. I wonder how to link "Object B" to follow the movement of "Object A", ie when "Object A" rotates, "Object B" slides forward, but they are joined together in "Rotational joint B" as illustrated below. I have tried the normal linking one object to follow another but then both of them rotates...I have also tried the parent->child stuff but no luck (maybe easier to understand if this was say; for the rear canopy on a Bf-110, which it isn't, but similar thing)
Thanks for any answers.

That's an easy one. Set the pivot for Object B on rotational joint B, link it to object A, create a dummy left to object B and look-at constrain it to the dummy.

If it doesn't work there are some more possibilities, yo may send me the canopy(if using max 8) and I will do that and maybe explain later.

O no, not look-ats and dummies, that's overkill!

In this case, just apply a counter rotation to object B. So rotate object A from X to 0 degrees, and rotate object B from 0 to -X degrees, while having it linked to object A.

Rear part of the He 115 canopy, I guess?

By the way, you may wish to link it all up to a slider, using this tutorial: http://www.military-meshes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1378
