This is a US Navy 40 mm twin mount used on most Navy ship during mid to late WW2. Modeled in AutoCAD 2007 as a solid model. It is shown with somewhat simplified details. I will probably go back and add the handrails They were left off on purpose.

Impressive.

Should the gunsights be that thick though?

No, they should be wire thin. The model is not made for display, it is made with manufacturing in mind.

Nice model.
I'm doing the single mount for my PT currently. I believe it's the Army version converted. Mainly using photographs as I've found little reference drawings available.
So I can appreciate your work.

The Floating Drydock has a new CD out on Gato Class Subs. It is awesome as a reference. It has drawings and photos of the single 40 mm mount. I am not sure how much they differed from the PT mount, but they would get you close. I believe that you can also purchase the individual weapons sheets on that gun mount. Just click the link in my sig file and look for the Floating Drydock banner and take it from there.
