Hello guys,
This Gun is modelled in 3ds max, I worked on it some 50 hours,
this is a skylight render, i had to take out 2 different skylight renders, then finaly merge them together to get this final render. I did this because of my computers incapability to render the whole thing in 1 shot.
Sorry for the large size.
I hope you like it, if you dont, please give reasons..
Take Care
Thankyou

That is actually looking very nice! Only crit I have is that it seems to float a little over the track :)

DAMNED impressive! Ditto on the "floating above the tracks" comment and maybe add some thickness to the gun barrel? I looks paper thin. Other than that it's awesome!

precalculate Radiosity and see what it does. Every computer should be able to render that in one pass, unless you have an 133 Mhz processor...

Very nice modelling - it looks much better now with the barrel thickness added.:)

Is this one based on a K5E Leopold?

The K5 Leopold was an 11" railway gun (see the one in the gallery) - I think there is one on display in either America or Europe somewhere. I seem to think it was the most common of the railway guns.

It's a great idea though - take a battlecruiser gun and put it on a train!:D

Thats much better.
And... did it render in one pass this time? :)

i was wondering if this Rail Gun has any qualities of reaching the Featured Photos colomn. If it doesnt have any such quality, then how can i make it have some.
Please guide me.

It would be nice to see it textured - just my opinion though.

I would texture it for sure, you just have to wait.

i was wondering if this Rail Gun has any qualities of reaching the Featured Photos colomn. If I'm not mistaken, the Featured Photos section is a random selection of Gallery (http://www.military-meshes.com/gallery) submissions.
