as someone who has modeled both of these planes, i can tell you straight up that what you are asking for would get you not only arrested but almost certainly put in jail... those two planes are still heavily classified and even the drawings you have are incorrect.

that said, the best place would be jsf.mil. However, all of their drawings are... wrong on purpose.

i know this isn't helpful but when i was doing the F-35s for Lockheed no less, i was told outright that i would have to model using internet based stuff. nothing at all could be sent from them. ah well....

it was a joke (however, bad) about being arrested... come on...

i looked at the sites you have and they quite interesting, however, it appears that those planes are the X-35 rather than the F-35 AA1. nonetheless, sure looks like a good reference... why not contact the company that makes those RC planes and ask them if they have any ref that a 3d modeler might get...

laters.

If you can devise a way for me to get near the aircraft (or at least up to 800-900 feet away), I can scan them or you can rent the scanner to scan them.......www.3dpointcloud.com....www.aeronautica 3d.com (new site look coming online tomorrow)

Ask the company if you would be allowed to scan the aircraft when the aircraft is either at an airshow or in or around a hangar that is near a fence accessible to the public. Also tell the company that you will have the data tweaked to cover up very detail curvatures. Boeing allowed this alternative for me. They even offered 3D data of their own, however I needed much more detailed then they offered. That's when they said it was ok to scan the aircraft, and that they would like to see the data before I used/or sell it to make sure the airfoil data was tweaked somewhat to coverup proprietary shape. I went through their graphics and legal departments - they were extreamly helpful. They gave me drawing with good lofting data on almost all of their aircraft - the lofting data was tweaked I was told.

keep up your communications with the companies and once they get to know you and trust you, they will be helpful at getting you data. The important point is they can build a relationship with you and trust you.
