Hiya

I've been leeching inspiration from you guys here for months now, avidly admiring new pics posted. This has helped me progress massively. Guys here are doing things that defy the boundaries of time ... Here's a SAAF Impala Mk II and Cheetah C. Any input & feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the positive comments guys .. The SAAF has two Flag Cheetah's, a C & D. I've done both, but am struggling to get any detail when the paint scheme is black/dark, as in the nose of the cheetah C ??

There is nothing like an oil leak on the tarmac where a piston engine marks its territory, so I've icluded a SAAF Harvard, circa 1980.

Thanks again.

Very cool. Cheetah is one of my favorite, that scheme makes it even nicer :)
Harvard well done also .

Yes, dark gloss paint can be tricky to reproduce. Maybe just try to do the reflection of a simple horizon, with some highlights on the structures line of the airframe just where the sun hits it... Here some examples.
