For those who don't know him, I can thoroughly recommend his autobiographic book "Soldier of Orange".

He wrote a number of other books too. Especially "Rendezvous in San Francisco" is a great read. It's been a long time since I read it, but if I remember correctly it relates about Erik's experiences travelling to SF and back on a mere 10 Guilders as the result of a bet(!), before WW2.

Bit of late news, but sorry for him any way. I wished they had made that movie a few years ago about his life after WW2. The man had an adventurious life. And I agree, any of his books, especially his latest, about his life in general not only WW2 is a good read. In that he also goes on a bit about his mosquito days.

I was fortunate to meet him twice, sadly he didn't liked to see me because I was doing my job at the time...
