Need Help here

I've started modeling a V-22 Osprey using Lightwave 8.5 but have encountered a problem shaping the nose section as seen here:

While my application listing says Lightwave, I'm a real amatuer at it yet. But, from watching the Kurv videos on the Chevy SSR and working on a Piper J3/L4, I would draw the circle in one or more additional times (extrude?), delete the multi-sided polygon at the center, and then 'weld average' on the points of the smallest circle. That gets rid of the polygon with greater than for sides.

Its lunch time at work and I'm getting my daily 'fix' of 3D art, so I can not go look up and make sure extrude is the correct operation, but I do remember about deleting the multi-sided polygon and welding average.

When I get a little further along I'll post something, its just that old thing time!

Well, managed to get the basic shape set up. That nose is still a headache though.
