Hi guys,

Some of you may recall the flakboot I was working on before.

Here is an animation I rendered for my showreel:
http://kiwi123.military-meshes.com/flakboat4.avi (http://kiwi123.military-meshes.com/flakboat4.avi)
I know the quality lessens at the end, but it's all I had time for I'm afraid.

Very god render, the ocean is very well, but two things rares.
The Machines guns ( 4 guns ) are without texture .
In your animation the flag is open, but the ship is stopped
No wind, flag closed , but very beatiful the animation
Sorry by my english lenguage

Hi Karras, you are absolutely right, it is still the same work in progress as it was before, just for me to show this model again after milmesh is back up. The guns are still not textured and the ship is indeed not moving. Had no time at all to do something great with it. (literally 15 minutes to put the scene together)...

Very nice Kiwi, it somehow reminds me of Vietnam films with patrolboats up the rivers. Good immersion..

Its good mate, only other thing I would say is that the reflection on the water is much too strong. Otherwise good stuff!

Nice kiwi :salute:

You know how mutch I like the Narwal and it was a pleasure for me to help you find references for the "Vorpostenboot". :)

Oh, and the refelctions seem to be quite right as I think she is lying in a calm fjord, taking a rest after a hard days work.

Except the mentioned flag it looks great. How you did the cam tracking?

What I did was make a cylinder with a texture on it of a panorama photograph I have taken. That is the background. Then add a plane for the water, give it a bump and reflection, add the ship and animate the camera as I like. The camera is moved with about 3 keyframes, and then there is a target for the camera which also has about 3 keyframes. Very simple but effective.

Would love to see the still pic animated.
That big swell moving through would be outstanding.

It looks really good Kiwi, but somehow seems out of place in a fjord. Seems so beaten up you need a beaten up ocean to go with itl.
Hopefully you get around to building the Beaufighter one day to attack it.

Very nice as always kiwi, an unusual subject matter too

Awesome stuff mate :)

Kevin, I'd say it looks like it returned to the fjord for some rest, after a hard tour at open sea :)

beautifull scene, the rest of the comments can be left unnoticed since it seams you're still busy with it...

It looks absolutely fantastic to me Kiwi. The still shot is nice, and the animation even better! Whenever you find time and feel like it, feel free to contact me about the Beaufighter, as I will be more than happy to let you use it in some animation work. I am now, as I told you sometime ago, a very busy person and to my great discontent, I have no time to play in 3d, hopefully this will change in 3-4 months... The Beaufighter is rather finished now, although I did not have time for more than a couple of test renders of the plane... nothing to show off really...

Oh, and I love what you did with the Spit in modo 2.01. Oh I wish I had more time to get some grips on that software... it's waiting for me ;)

Well, I had just started an animation with spits attacking the flakship, you're right on time ! Lets see what happens if I replace them with beaufighters :)

Good to see you back on milmesh DarkBlue.

Good to see you back on milmesh DarkBlue.Indeed! I was worried we had lost you in the crash, but good to see you back. We'll patiently await your comeback in 3-4 months :)

Hi to all,

  Kiwi123!!!..., its work is truly impressive, on the failures as more or less they have commented, will not contribute anything new in this respect (for my they are smaller failures and as you say are by lack of time;) ), only the serious thing to contribute something of foam and turbulence around hull of the boat, to simulate the currents of the water and the flag to leave it something but fallen;) , on the bottom it seems guessed right very as Skyraider3D says to me, has aspect that this arriving at port in some delta or Finnish fiord after one patrols on the high seas;) , by the others ...... IMPRESSIVE!!!.., my more sincere congratulations by this I magnify work.;)

A greeting and good hunting.

PS: I hope that the time allows him to delight to us with more works like this.;)
