View Full Version : Just about blueprints
One things was always hard for me in working with blueprints as base in Rhino or 3DMax: They were usually on white background. Thin line, edges of objects etc sometimes was difficult to see on them. So I always try to prepare blueprints in Photoshop in this way, that they have background the same as my working window. Usually it is gray. This way, the only part of blueprints, that I see on screen are black lines. Sometimes I change them to a white lines - it depend on what is more comfortable for me in this unique work.

A very good way to go about it.
Much easier to see on screen than black on white :)

PSP
ctrl+U opens Hue and Saturation.
Set Light to 50%
The quick way to convert your 3 views.
However, as you see in mrys' pic it leaves you with black on grey line drawing.
There's something to be said for making your lines coloured.

I either do that or use black&white and set to 50% transparency. The last thing works even better for me. Since I use an inverted box, I can toggle double-sidedness on/off as a please, and check details other than the outline.
That's another nice model in the works, Marek. Is it a PZL P.1?

Yes:). It is PZL P.1 - first of P.7/P.11/P.24 family.
And it is my come back to 3D Max. I,am trying to model it in this soft, by using low poly/high poly method. It is not as fast as Rhino, but not as difficult as I thought.
Setting transparency to 50% at the "referenced box" is good idea just until the moment, when you use halftransparent material on modeled parts. I use it to see blueprints through "planes". Then you will see nothing but background color. Anything between 10 - 49 % and 51-99% gives ugly results (some kind of artifacts).

Marek, right click the viewport and go to "Configure". Set "Transparency" to Best. That fixes your problem :)
