Sudden Squall

A flight of USN Bearcats is suddenly set upon by advanced Japanese Shinden Interceptors in the opening days of Operation Olympic, the Allied Invasion of Japan.

I was hit with a sudden urge to do a pic with my Bearcats, and old as they may be, I'm pretty happy with the results.

PS- I know the Shindens are hard to see, but I think it adds to the mood if you've got to squint to see them same as the Bearcat pilots do! :D

lovely idea! Bearcat is such a sweet aircraft.
I really like the composition, but I wonder if it might benefit from being cropped at the sides so the image is more portrait in layout than square.
Look forward to seeing some more Bearcat stuff, Carrier landing maybe?

Nice idea! I agree with the portrait comment. There's a lot of empty space on the left especially. if you crop that off the main Bearcat will occupy a nice space in the intersection of two 1/3rd lines (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds) and it should make the composition stronger by increasing the relative lead room (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lead_room) at the same time.

Sweet! The Bearcat has got to be one of my favorite prop driven fighters. I've always wanted to do a piece featuring the air racer "Rare Bear".
