Our sister site SciFi-Meshes.com has recently been the target of a brute force attack, attempting to find backdoors into the server. Below is the transcript of Aceman's (our administrator) warning to users:
Scifi-meshes.com has recently been the target of a direct brute force attack. Today we experienced this attack yet again. We have blocked the IP of the attacker. Apprently they (the attacker) is scanning the server to find a backdoor into the server. We are aware of they're attempts and my host assures me they have implimented changes to prevent them from succeeding.
I apologize for the downtimes, slow server, etc.. but please note, we are backedup, secure, and doing everything we can to put and end to this, to include contacting other external hostings services..etc.
As MilMesh is hosted on the same server, the news is just as relevant to us, so as Aceman says, everything that can be done is being done, and if we start to suffer due to the attacks, we apologise in advance.
