looking awesome!
I have a few questions- how did you model the treads? And how did you model (or texture) those rather uneven surfaces, with those bumps and little hardware?

Thnx guys :)
@Arjun: I modeled an individual track link, then simply duplicated it as an instance to complete the track assembly. I placed the links by hand:

The bumps on the mudguards are also simple, Sub-D modeling:

Very high detail, but this link must be a high polys number ,or no ? ;)
I like your model, man it's very fine.

very beautiful model, can't wait for the next
Almost obvious to congratulate you on your work … and to avail myself of the opportunity to understand how to build the cables.
Retired and hobbist, I build ships with Cinema 4D 64 bit – a few examples in small format, owing to my 56 k modem in a straitened area – and rigging is still a problem. Your cables are the best example I have seen , but I don’t understand the technique. It seems a true plait, not a texture, bump or displacement. Can you address me, concise is enough, don’t waste your time. Thanks in advance. Marco from Italy

Excellent looking model so far. Superb detail.
Ufff: Very good work, excellent detail. :)
I apologize for the crossing the frontier of my ships. That was only for emphasize the importance to the problem. Nothing we was able to do, against your 50 L/60, however. cordially Marco

Hey guys, sorry for the long hiatus, I'm still working on this project:
Update:
http://www.peperaart.com/PzIIIM_01.jpg
Marco, the cables are just several helix primitives coiled around each other, then I used path deform based on a spline to form and position the cables into the desired location. Hope that helps.

Thats one of the nicest modelling jobs I've seen. I don't envy you when it comes to uv mapping the beast, looks like its going to be quite a task.

Very nice work. Amazing detail. Must be very taxing on your system with that many polygons. How do you manage it?

i must insist they dont match up but its realy a tiny detail and as i said its amazing work i'll never even get close to that quality but if u look at the attachment you'll notice the tooth shifting further and further from the edge of the track untill they seem to go it
