Hi guys,

I'd like to know how you'd tackle the task of skinning the Ju 52 exhaust piping:

I would appreciate a result that doesn't require too much space on a texture and yet should have a decent quality to it.

If you have max 2009 you can do it with the new spline uv tool which is perfect for these sort of difficult shapes.

Other than that, its probably best to split it in half and break it down into planar mappings. This will result in some stretching but doesn't really matter on exhaust.

Thanks a lot. I'll definitely check out the spline uv tool, sounds very promising. :)
