I decided to try my hand at box modeling by starting on an F-15. So far, as the picture shows below, I have a pretty good low poly model. Its the next step that stumps me, though, as applying meshsmooth to the whole thing will obviously ruin some parts. So where do I go from here? Right now I'm thinking of splitting the model into pieces, smoothing it, then joining them back togethor via boolean. What else can I do to smooth it out?

The model is split down the centerline, btw.

Looks like you modeled it like a low-poly model but didnīt include any edge loops to define the har edges. Max will then try to smooth the geometry evenly and not produce the desired results.

Thanks, exactly what I needed to find out to progress.

Thanks man!

Actually, there is an easier way to get those sharp edges. without making all those cuts close together. I found that if I convert to Editable Poly, and assign Crease values to those specific edges, they become sharp when you meshsmooth them. Really keeps polycount down!

Its not to say the above advice isn't informative, though.
