here's the JSf A version.... it's not textured and has many many problems.. not the least of which are normals and smoothing... ah well.. them's the breaks... this is the first time i post an unfinished mesh... so we can now see where and how i go about this... wheeeeeee....
aren't we sooooo lucky?
comments, critiques and other types of statements, questions or demands are welcome. though they willl not necessarily be responded to...:D

Looks like a great start.
I love the detail in the cockpit!
The details of the Landing gear are indeed cool.
Generally a very good job.
:salute:
GREAT job on the F-35.
This is the "A" right?
Are you going to do the "C"?

it's not a pretty plane... that's for sure... and a real bit@#h to model as well... harder than the raptor... but hey... am in the process of doing the seat... but i'm feeling a bit lazy... so i'm thinking about not doing the seat belts... hell.. on one of these things, who needs belts???? no one is gonna see you coming ANYWAY... right? right?

That sure is awesome! I like the progress! The cockpit detail is intense.
You can barely tell that you've used F-15 landing gear. I bet its hard to find good reference on that kind of stuff.

uh... nope... that's not F-15 gear.... F-15 gear... oh yeah.... jeez... looks almost exactly the same... check the oleos... wrong shape... and no green light red light box. and the light housing on the eagle is round... Though apparently, the idea was to use parts that already exist if possible, hence the X-35 used F-15 front gear and F-14 rear gear... which it still will use in the F-35 C version... (heavy landings... heavy gear...)

Aren't you breaking some kind of security protocols modelling this much detail ?....haha...looks great, top modelling job.

more of the texture updates.... 99% on the cockpit... just need to do the labels and stuff... gears are done, need to IK and link... burner is done, need to automate.. (ahh... to morph or not to morph... )... and now.. on to the minor smooth and face level errors... and then... TEXTURING!!!!

Looks like they've got casting shapes in the front axle bearer. Nice high res pic of it though.

Very nice ! That cockpit is very detailed, the seat belts would be the finish touch on it ;-) what are the thin white lines on the airframe ?
krazycolin
07-15-2006, 9:00 AM
thin white lines??? ah!!!! you mean the thin white lines... those are... er... uh... thin white lines!!!!! TA DA!!!! anyway... they are the joins for the doors.. once the plane is textured and being rendered at a higher level (ie with antialiasing) those will (hopefully) go away....
