Now that the US has an official heritage flight, it made me wonder what the German version would look like... It's always interesting to see generations of fighters in formation with eachother. This image is the result. Hope you like it.

Bit strange though showing a russian ship as the leader :) Perhaps a german product, as is the 262. like Eurofighter would have been even better :) still a very nice piece!

Looks really good. Maybe a little more weathering on the mig would make it even more realistic.

Hey, thanks guys. Glad you like it!
Yes, maybe a little more weathering on the Mig... It was not easy to find good reference photos on this aircraft. Some were quite clean looking, some were dirty. I went for a more clean, airshow style look.

Flew my friend. Flew just like the 262 :(
Besides that, great idea and it might inspire others to create some nice formations as well!

Great image - looks like it should be a book cover ('The Luftwaffe through the ages' maybe).
Where's the DVII though?
Excellent work!
A couple of questions though - were the planes built in C4D? If so, could you give me some idea on how they were built please?

I knew it flew for the Luftwaffe :) I went to laage when they were still fully operational there. They were sold to Poland recently. What I meant was that the Me-262 is a german built and designed jet and that the Mikoyan is a Russian design and built plane. Eurofighter is a part german machine so perhaps it would have been a cool choice too :) Especially as its the Luftwaffe's latest and greatest just like the Schwalbe once was!

Yes, the Eurofighter would be a good choice. I hadn't thought of that. But the Fulcrum and the Schwalbe are two of my favorites, and I wanted to show two iconic fighters that are no longer in service, but will always be remembered. If I do an expanded edition someday I'd also like to include a Phantom, Starfighter and Sabre. They all look so cool in German markings.
Firefly, don't they have mountains in Deutschland too? Ok, you got me... Switzerland I think. ;)
Luke, you are the C4D master! I should be asking you. Your Tiger is awesome!!
Actually the Me 262 started life in Rhino years ago. I've re-done it at least twice and could make it even better now. But I'm still adding details here and there. Maybe I should start a thread on it...
I'm using Cimema 8.5 and really like it. The more I learn about it, the more I like it.
Me? A C4D master? I don't think so! I struggle with the more organic structures (planes, for example) - a tank, being more angular, is more straight-forward for me.
I'm using 9.6 and have barely scratched the surface as to what it can do, but there are tools that Max and LW have got that I would like to see in C4D.
As to starting a thread - go for it!

Very good idea for thema!
But in my opinion better would be rather any "western" aircraft, than soviet. Thanks God there are no more East Germany and Warsaw Pact :) !
Composition is GREAT!
