Ive got a general question (well sort of general) When working with background eliments what is considered a standard? if there is one. Ive seen several examples of gorgeous background cloudscapes and ground/horizon shots members of this forum have made. Do some of you prefer using real images? Do some of you use products like Dreamscape and Afterworks. Or are some of you just evil Photoshop gnomes that live in your parent’s basements spending hundreds of hour’s hand painting clouds with a tablet 1 pixel at a time? (not judging cause id be doing the same if I wasn’t living in a cardboard box under a freeway overpass steeling a wireless signal from taco bell) just curious.

Most of use photos of cloudscapes taken from Aircraft while on Holidays or trips. Software like Vue and Terragen also look quite promising for that purpose but obviously is a far more expensive option than a quick photo out of a plane.
