I am new to modeling and C4d. This is my first project- a bf109 f-4.
As you can see from them pic the texture on the fuse just started looking funny. Last time I opened the file it didn't look like this. A

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Kevin

Could you post a screenshot of the material settings? How is it applied? UVW?

Here is the material that is applied. Yes-it is uvw.
Thanks for looking at it.

Have you made a change to the mesh since you laid out your UVs? That can often cause weird stretching...

Definitely looks like a change in the mesh after you unwrapped the bugger :)

Could even be one vertex that has moved.

Also, you brown colour is a bit off I think, it needs more yellow and less red.

Thanks Martocticvsm and cobra6. I don't think I changed the mesh but that sounds like it may be it. Probably an accident.

Cobra,
I used the color swatches that I downloaded from the paint simmers website for RLM colors. I'm sure some user there made so some of the colors may be accurate and some may not. I uploaded a pic of it. Do you know a good and accurate source for these colors?

Again, thanks for the help,
Kevin

The colour might indeed be right valua wise, but that is usually not what you use for your renders. Generally desaturating the colour a bit looks much better, hard colours tend to look fake.

I had a PDF somewhere with the colours, but I can't find it.

Must be a change to the mesh. Even small changes play havoc with the UVWs.
I presume this is the one cobra6 is talking about - actually this site have the same thing for other airforces too:
http://www.scalemodels-bg.com/files/files/Digital_Luftwaffe_WW2_colours.pdf

I've tried the simmers worksop swatches and this one and they sure aren't aways the same...

Another site with colours is:http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/luft_e.htm

Here you need a program like color cop to see the rgb in the colour chips. You can get it here:http://download.cnet.com/Color-Cop/3000-2383_4-10047009.html

Of course you can do the same thing with Photoshop..Use the eyedropper and point it at something within the ps workspace and press the left mouse button. If you point it at something OUTSIDE ps while pressing the left mousebutton you'll get that colour into ps as foreground colour.

Thanks for the links Rags. Nice tip for the eyedropper in photoshop.
It looks like I may have modified the mesh. Does anyone know how to lock an object in c4d so it cannot be modified?

I think I found out why I was having the texture problem. My bump map and color texture were different sizes. I tested and that seems to be the case.
