Well I'm still real new to 3D work and wanted to post a early pic of my subject. I intend to work on the canopy today and will post more as I go.

But for now how does this look as far as the shape and mesh go. By the way I am using Modo as my 3D program of choice. If the pics are to small I get upload bigger ones..

I think the shape & flow of the mesh looks good, maybe just tighten up the trailing edge of the rudder a bit more.

Thanks Kevjon for quick reply. But I have ran into a few other issue`s with this one.

I wonder if anyone has a quick pic of a Mig15 mesh I could take a look at to see were its going wrong..

Hi! I started on a Mig-15 myself earlier this year. Here are a few pics of my mesh. I'm not the most skilled artist around here, but still hope this will be at any help. I do my modelling in Blender 3d.

Good luck !

Thanks for the pics Thonords.. You buy have chance have one not subd ?. I am getting close to were I think it needs to be on the rear area. But I'm sure it will be tweaked as this project goes on.

I'm sorry but I do not have a mesh with lower resolution. I started out with a 24 side cylinder, cut it in half and applied a mirror function. For the tail fin I created the outer edges, getting the shape exactly like my reference image and than filled in the gaps. Same procedure with the wings (tilting them later). I don't know if that is the best procedure, but it worked for me eventually (also, keep in mind I'm using a different software). I did indeed find the rear part of this particular plane to be difficult to get right, so I wish you good luck with that. Do you have any new pictures of your progress ?

Here's a screen shot of the tail without the elevator section witch I made in a separate mesh(picture nr2.) :
