Thank you , so much ;)
here the Track-Link & the other wheel
The link It's that of the last version ( late ), can be used in all the versions of the vehicle, because the first ones have the wreath one different from an alone wreath and the Late version have two wreaths ( understand me ? )
PD. As is it said to the motive wheel? In Spain it's called "motriz" but in english lenguage I unknown, sometimes I called Powerengine , he,he,he,he,he. Sorry for my poor english lenguage.

Karras
08-14-2009, 1:09 PM
Really , only 7 vehicles was builded
in three versions, th late version have a normal "motive wheel " ( with two files of teeths ) but the firsts versions only have one single wheel like a gear.

According to this wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continuous_track) the word you looking for is (drive) sprocket.
Using wikipedia for translation is a trick I learned sometime ago when trying to help somebody on a subject I knew quite a lot about only the Dutch terms.
Anyway was I want to how do you make a thread of the separate links,
Manually or a script?
Karras
08-14-2009, 7:30 PM
Manually, first in the "Sprocket" wheel , then the under links with Array, then the tensile wheel, and the last, the upper links.

Thanks for the information.

I always make on tracklink, copy it the required time and then attach them all into one object, so you have a long stretch of track (you need to get the amount of links and their dimensions almost perfectly right for this.)
Then I make a (smooth) spline in the shape of the track, and then use a pathdeform modifier (in 3Dmax that is) on the tracklink object and select the spline as the guide. With a little tweaking this works very well.
And a major plus is that you can easily make the tank "drive" with this trick because there is a slider in the modifier making the track go round the spline. Especially usefull if you want correctly motionblurred tracks in an art-piece.

Congrat for the header Karras !
No nonono... It's not a boat... not a tank... It's a tracked clog. Get two, and you have a pair of giant tracked rollers !
Seriouly, very well done. Congrat!

The texture is looking really nice, but for the shark beak I recommend you use a program like adobe illustrator to get crisp lines. This looks pretty bad compared to all the other texture work.

Render looks promising. I'm tempted to say it's placed too deep, but your photo seems to suggest otherwise.

Impresionante macho.
Karras
11-07-2009, 7:43 AM
Thank you
No , Lordof no hago maquetas, alguna hice alguna vez, pero muy mala.
Tenia esquemas de camo para éste aun mas raros ( burbujas alargadas ) son sacados de un libro sobre él.
