Ok i have decided to model a f-16 c Block 40. But before I begin I need a question answered. The fuselage around the canopy does it extend straight or is it slightly curved. I have the images to help explain what im getting at. I have done searches on google to compare but all the images I find I cant tell what it does . any help guy's would be very helpful.

Here's a good head-on photo of an F16C, check out the panel lines.

I don't think there are any flat panels or straight lines anywhere forward of the wing, that's why F16's look so good :D

Edit: never underestimate the usefulness of a good quality plastic kit as reference!

The best way to handle it is to look at the photo Gryshnak supplied, and your drawing. So see the lines drawn on the nose cone? Just extend those and see where they go. That is how the lines on the nose flow. The photo suggests the same. The whole structure flows downward.

So a little bit straight, but most of it goes upward, and a very little bit downward. Extending a line from the cannon to the middle line on the nose cone seems to be a good centre line.

ps: Also moved the post to the correct sub-section.

A good eye for 3 dimensional objects and good analysing skills are just as important as the ability to model in this area. You have got to have some feel for the object, whether it is a fighter jet, or a simple vase. You have to be able to analyse the shape, and spot if something you are modelling is actually logical and possible in the real world. That can save you a lot of correction work afterwards.

This is a talent which comes with time and practice :)
