Hi. i just want to show you some thing i made recently. It's a low poly model of a stug 3 gun made in sketchup and rigged with sketchyphysics (3rd party plugin for sketchup - something like reactor in max). Have a look at youtube video:

Also there are other tank videos on my channel so feel free to have a look.

Very nice animation! Those track movements look really convincing:) Haven't done anything like this before, but I do want to give it a spin next year.

Impressive!

The way the suspension reacts to the uneven ground is nicely represented,as well as the path changes.

Looks good, though the tracks look a little bit floppy (too loose?). Looks like Sketchup will soon take over the 3D world. They're making swift progress with it and using some funky technology.

Skyraider. The problem with tracks is that they behave more like rubber tracks than a steel ones. The joints between the links are very flexible thus the tracks streetch a good bit and that's why they look bit strange. And i don't think that sketchup won't take over the 3d world. The people behind it dont want it to compete with other 3d soft like max, maya or blender. They still want it to be simple bit of soft for architectural visualisations and google earth models. It's the 3rd party plugins that make sketchup so versatile and useable. But still because of sketchups engine its hard to work on high poly models in SU.

wow! Nice animation.

Sketchup has progressed so far in so little time. Last time I looked into it every render looked like ink and paint.

The movement really great, but the tracks should sink into the ground and land as he went out. Really good& difficult to do it.
