Problems with Viewport Settings

Hey all,
after reinstalling 3dsmax 9 (64Bit with Win7) i have a really strange problem:

I'm trying to configure my graphis driver as followed:

CUSTOMIZE -> PREFERENCES -> VIEWPORT SETUP -> CONFIGURE DRIVER

and then Check "Match bitmap size as closely as possible" twice,
choose the highest resolution and checked "linear" twice.

After that i restarted my 3dsmax as recommended. But 3dsmax seems not to save my settings.
Someone here who can help me?

try as admin..

Indeed, right click on you 3Dsmax shortcut, properties, compatibility, "Run this program as an administrator". Select that, and then save, and try again.
