Coming along very ncely IMO.
I'd have a touch more metal and less holes in the .50 cal's cooling sleave. Cooling surface area mattered and you've reduced that a tad too much, I feel.
.50 cal (http://www.liberatorcrew.com/15_Gunnery/01_50cal.htm)
The B-25 'Straiffer' guns ran hottest of all the ma deuces and you can see the cooling sleave used there and B-24 mounts in those pics.
Very nice work. I'll follow with interest.

Here is the completed .50Cal havnt been able to update this post for a few days been busy.
thanks for hte comments guys :)
The .50 Cal coolin sleeves, There is a correct amount of cooling holes. I used the gunnery website for the info, its a beaut of a sight. Im actually thinking if i get enough time to do a blowapart of the .50 cal

If you really want to go for it, try to give the cooling jacket a sense of thickness. Basically do a darkened offset on the middle two rows (one down, one up) to simulate thickness, if that makes any sense.

Yes that would put the mass into the sleave.
Love the wooden handle result.

Will give tht a go, its a really insignificant peice on my profile this detauil is a bit wasted. but i really wanted to give it a go and im quite pleased with my first ever profile of a weapon, definately thinking of a blowapart

Tough time, mate.
Sorry to hear that. It can rip your guts out.
Nice start. Just one comment! On a sunny day have a look at windows of houses. The glass seems to have a very dark colour, because the room behind is dark. So I think the windows would look better, if they weren't as light as you painted them. Special the ones on the lower sides of the fuselage and back fuselage. Cockpit glassing is okay, as this part is more flushed by light. Maybe the turret glassing on the lower side should be a little bit darker.
Maybe darker windows also look better because of the contrast to the very light surface of the metall.
Cheers,

I think You should add more blicks and shadows. (More contrast). For me at that zoom - aircraft is litlle bit "flat".

the B-24 is a very flat aircraft, this is a zoom just to show the ball turret it all looks better zoomed out.

very kewl !!
Have had a friend that flew in the tail gunner position on a Liberator J. The aircraft was over Germany when the aircraft took some flak. The Aircraft caught fire and the crew blowed out.
The flames were so bad that when he jumped out; the flames cuaght the chute on fire and him. As he was putting the last of the flames out. He looked up and noticed the chute was on fire too.
The chute failed; he guessed about 500ft up. He awoke in a snow bank about 3ft down. He was caught and spent the rest of the year in POW camp.
He recved 3rd degree burns on his arms, face and neck.

Aswell as this B-24 i am producing a few more schemes, they are for a book taking in account of aircraft lost and shot down over Slovakia and surrounding areas. If your friend was in such a raid then his aircraft maybe one im producing.
