First post here.

I've been working on this Challenger 2 tank, I wasn't trying to make it exactly the same, the plan was to make it at least resemble the real thing.

there are still areas that need working on, the whole thing in general I feel needs a lot more detail, and I might change the wheels as I never made any spiked ones that go each end.

I also need to model a proper gun as I quickly stuck a minigun that took 10mins to model on top.

Anyway, any comments suggestions would be great!

Thanks.

Here are a couple of renders I did with some standard textures, just to give an idea of how it might look colour wise,

Im thinking of going the desert route with it though.

The textures are just standard mental ray textures from the library, I think it's just a standard green metal. I will make some textures when I have the time.

The turret I plan on re-doing anyway and many many more details to be added.

Thanks for your input guys!

Nice model Paul :) Tell me, are you working from drawings or on the eye?

Ah okay that could be the reason why it looks a bot off in dimensions as i posted over at cgsociety ;) But still it looks good and it definately looks like a challenger

On THIS (http://www.paulcliff.com/tank/green.png) picture the tanks shape looks like a Shilka with that high chassis and turret and the hatch being open

Try using blueprints/drawings with your next model Paul, it will give it that extra bit of realism :)
