Been working on this for the past 2 weeks. I still have to do some fine detailing on the panels and rivets as well as on the model itself. I added some textures to it. The fuse is mainly of panel wood and the wings of fabric.

From what we can see your losenge looks to have come out well.
I find the background somewhat incongruous, though.
Guess it could be on its way to an airshow.

It's always nice to see a couple of views of the model, as well as a single composition like this. You'll get better informed responses, that way.

Looking good, so far, however the paint on the fusilage looks just a tiny bit too glossy. The background looks as though it is scuttling around over Berlin or Hamburg, get it over the Western Front and we'll see about a dogfight. Keep it coming, Regards

Actually it's over Paris.:D Saw one on display and it had a varnish finish on it. Don't know if they had it so during those times.

Well I'm pretty much done with this model. I've toned down the gloss somewhat but if you still think it's too shiny I'll fix it. Thanks for the comments.:)

Not done yet.....still needs a pilot and final render. Some weathering would make it look more realistic. These aircraft had a pretty hard life but at some stage they were of course new.

Hey, it just came out of the factory!:D Yes, I'm using Poser 6 for the pilot and exporting it into LW9 for texturing. As for the weathering I may experiment on it. But the model itself is done.

Looks pretty good but the ribbing seems too strong.

I always have considered the DVa the nicest looking of all WWI era aircraft and hope to get around to modelling one myself one day.

The ridges on the ribbing was pronounced on the wings as evidenced by the references I used. Brown wooden strips were seen on the rigging as well. Yes, it's the best looking aircraft for that era and I had fun modelling it. It took me over 2 weeks to finish it up.:) The engine was the hardest part and a lot of research went into that.

Very nice! A bit of subtle weathering would improve it though.

Funny you talking about varnish on the Albatross - Hendon's DVII is very glossy too. It must be very difficult to imagine what they would have looked like at the time.

Nice probably one of the coolest planes ever particularly as far as the number variety and style of paint schemes go. Zebra stripes blue and white checkerboard pictures of cartoon characters all available in the actual paint schemes.

For those that haven't seen the work mark miller did with this aircaft....well worth a look....good reference to as he models with a CAD program so ...very precise stuff. http://www.wwi-models.org/Images/Miller/render/Albatros/index.html

Ok, added some weathering and stuck in a pilot.
