Not sure where I should post this...so I will try this forum.
There is an Open Source software project called "Make Human" that allows you to model a humanoid figure (male or female). It is pretty flexible allowing you to model anything from a small child to a warrior to an old man (or woman). The software is constanlty undergoing enhancements with a posing module planned. The models easy export out to a number of formats that you can import into your favorite modeling or anitmation software to cloth, pose and render.
