I was reminded today by a co-worker of Google Books. Our understanding is that Google is scanning in every book in the Library of Congress that falls into public domain.

On a whim I entered naval history into the search engine, clicked on whole books (I can't remember exactly what it was labled) and hit search.

The result was an amazing list of publications and books, all available for download in pdf format.

I plan on spending some time trying different searches...I'll let you know if I find anything really significant.

Now that is very interesting!
I can actually do a text search in this book now, which I have at home. It doesn't have an index which is a pain!

Most of the public domain books have a download or right click save option.

Do you need an account for that button to appear?
