Ok, so the Hurricane is on hold pending receipt of better illustrations.
So, in the meantime, I will be starting something different. Which reminds me, does anybody here have or know where I can get good illustrations of the Allison v-1710 engine? It was the primary engine used in the late P-40 Warhawks and P-39 Airacobras.
I have managed to find enough reference photographs, but I am lacking good technical illustrations. Even general illustrations will do.
As always, your help is much appreciated.
Thanks.

Here you go! Couldn't find a frontview (7000 drawings = big search ;))
V-1710-F3R (P-40E) (http://skyraider3d.military-meshes.com/reference/V-1710-F3R_P-40E.jpg)
V-1710-F26R (P-40N) (http://skyraider3d.military-meshes.com/reference/V-1710-F26R_P-40N.jpg)
PS. Did you order the Hurricane drawings then? Design with Precision #1 has good Hurricane (Mk.IIc) drawings too, I discovered today :)

Sure did. It gave me a good head start. I also picked up a book "Vee's for Victory". Exclusively about Allison V model engines. Hopefully I will get some renders up soon.
Thanks again.

Will you just be modelling the engine, or a plane around it as well? :)

I would like to model the engine and the plane around it. I'm thinking maybe a P-40M Kittyhawk II.

Thanks Nostromo, those will come in very handy indeed.
Also, for some of you detail oriented folks, I found a good site that sells reproductions of engine and aircraft manuals, parts catalogs, maintenance manuals and everything else from manufacturers that has been de-classified.
You can order full reprints which cost around $70 or 35 pounds. Or, you can opt for soft copies on CD which only cost $18 or 9 pounds.

I've already picked up a few myself.
