View Full Version : Sterman Pt 17 Cockpit Info
Im looking for correct info about the complete Sterman cockpit as it was back in the day.
Most of the information Ive found are on Stearmans that have been upgraded.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

This from the Pilot's Manual:

Should be VERY simple and spartan, since it's a 1930s era trainer.
Thanks for the Pics, They do should do the trick
Thanks again for the pics you posted.
Now I have another issue. Im also looking for what I can as far as the control boxs and all the label text.. All the smaller items that most of the pics dont have..
Any ideas or info would be get ...

For that, it depends heavily on the quality of the Pilot's Manual or any accurate photography you can find. I wouldn't imagine it'd get a lot better for a trainer aircraft. Past 1942, the manuals started to get more detailed with nice drawings or photos for each quadrant, the various controls, etc.
I wouldn't imagine it'd ever get that good for a Stearman, though. :(
