USS Samuel B. Roberts

I bought a Butler class destroyer escort model online, but the detail wasn't high enough. I stripped it down to the hull and main deck. Now I'm rebuilding the superstructure so it is clearly a Butler class DE but it will also match most of the shots we get from the USS Slater which is Cannon class DE.

Here's my progress so far.

I bought it when I was new to modeling and started upgrading a piece at a time. It's helped me improve my modeling because building a ship from nothing would have been too great a challenge at that time.

Writing and producing come first, but my modeling skills improve with time. In the long run I'll hire people, but for now I buy and build as I am able.
