i would like to make a serie of 1/72 gentlemans....

what is the best way....

Hand made sculture....wax, g stuff, clay....????
or 3d printing...but for the details of faces...????

I think a lot of guys who make the prototypes for figure moulds use a 2 part epoxy putty called milliput. Usually found in most well stocked hobby shops.

The best way to start would be with a polymer clay like scuply or elmo. You sculpt what you need then bake it in an oven to harden it. I would suggest this way so you sculpt your head then bake it then you can handle it with no problems as you make the body and arms.

But be aware that a human figure in 1/72 scale is going to be very small.

Well he'll be only 25mm high so yeah very fiddly work.
