Anyone have access to Japanese text Aireview or Airview magazines? It looks like #7 (July?), 2005 might have drawings for an E8N.
I found some very basic drawings on the net. They look like the ones in the Francillon book on Japanese aircraft and I'm looking for something more detailed.
After reading 'Shattered Sword', I have this crazy idea on doing something(s) with all the aircraft types involved at Midway. Since I'm new at this, it will be awhile.
Thanks
Dave

The book "Shattered Sword" is good one. I'm working my through that book too.
I don't think I've seen drawings of the "Dave" before but good luck with your search, it would make a great 3D model, could be hard to find many reference photos on so good plans will be essential.

A good set of Dave plans in that Maru Mech. It's a japanese series with each one covering an aircraft. I've wanted to get that one myself.
There's a guy in the states, Zeroman that sells them regularly on ebay. Last time he listed the Dave I'd blown my libary budget for the month so missed it but it'll be listed again. He rotates the listing every fortnight or so, or you could email him direct. He has all the japanese float planes.

You should check a book: Bunrindo Famous Airplanes 47 - IJN Recon Seaplanes too!
BTW found...

Thanks Spinner, I"ve been watching zeroman but haven't seen the Dave show up yet. An Alf book went a couple of weeks ago for over $42 and I suspect it would have taken at least $50 if there would have been someone willing to continue bidding. That was a bit more than I wanted to spend. I'll have to keep watching.
Thanks Andy, I'll have to keep an eye for #47. I found those drawings too, but I was hoping to find some more detailed ones.
I had found my way here:

And #136 looks like it has Dave drawings perhaps, and #142 looks like it might contain Alf drawings. I've never seen these, so I'm not sure exactly just what they might have in them. I'm going to have to send an email and see if I can purchase back issues some how. It looks like I could subscribe via Amazon, but its kinda rich for my wallet these days ($335) and that wouldn't get me back issues.
ONe good thing, HLJ appears to have a double Maru Mechanic in stock that includes an Alf.
Kevjon, I really enjoyed 'Shattered Sword'. Found it very interesting.
Thanks Gents!

Just an update for those interested. I traded emails with zeroman and he said that the E8N Dave wasn't ever done in the Maru Mechanic series. And my previous post, I keep typing Alf when I mean Jake :-)

Really!
I would've sworn I'd seen it but apparently not, eh?
