Very impressive. Add some bevels to the mud shields though, as they look a bit too sharp.
Wow! Modelled Zimmerit - bet the polycount suffered from that!
Great work! I especially like the commander figure.
What theatre is your Tiger going to be based in?

Amazing work! Looks like a proper plastic model, and that's in a good way. Are you planning on any special paint scheme?
This tank has really been in the wars hasn't it? Nice damaged track guards.

using the word sexy when talking about a german tank..... well .... it just totally demises the entire might behind the tank... and makes the officer look like a pussy... lol

Hey Pionier, I need your help.
The cylindrical object (ringed in red on the image attached). Any idea what it is and what shape it's supposed to be? The Tigers I've seen in a museum just have a rectangle surrounded with welds.
Any help you can give me with this would be much appreciated.

Luke, I might be wrong but is it not an attachment point for the mudguard?
Luke, I might be wrong but is it not an attachment point for the mudguard?
Thanks Gareth.
Thanks to Spinner, I've modelled them as captive bolts for the mudguards - seems to be the sensible answer.

great looking composite so far, environment is looking great. One comment though, the right side tracks (left side in image) seems to just stop after they curl under the wheel, unless they are covered by dirt or something and not visible on purpose.
Spinner

If the tank is out of hiding the branches tell a confusing story.
There's 'cammo' branches (on gun) and 'environmental' branches (in tracks). Every pic tells a story and I think the foliage is telling two confusing ones.
Since the leaves n twigs are such a high point of the model, getting their 'story' right is important.

Well, if you have a forest behind the tank, it will all make perfect sense !

thats going to look great Pionier! After you're excellent Sturmtiger render I'm really looking forward to this one:)
That looks fantastic mate!
Do I assume correctly that there's going to be a painted matte behind the modelled environment? I hope you don't mind me asking, but I've never done anything like this.
I'm looking forward to seeing more.

i still don't like the branches on and around the tracks... even less so now. my main reason is this: if the tank were to be moving forwards... the tracks would be pulling/pushing the branches on the top of the tracks towards the front of the tank and then down and out... ya see? and yeah, sure, some might get caught... MIGHT... but in the end (and a very short end it would be too) they would be dragged out... it would be far more likely that some very small ones could get caught or "placed" above this area.... i've seen tanks in action , and i can tell you that even when they've mowed down the whole forest, they don't have tree branches stuck in their teeth so to speak... i know i'm being picky herre but everything else is looking so good that it's hard to look at those dratted branches.... as well... that wall is the PERFECT place for a bazooka team... they would almost certainly have runners ahead checking on that... ok ok... i'm shutting up now... great mesh.... i love it...

nothing wrong with that actually, why wouldnt you? Saves a lot of work, because modelling realistic people is very difficult. Im just looking for different techniques to model my Panzer crew when the time comes.
There is even a face generator now online, the demo was cool, but you cant save your work with the demo =/ hahah.

I agree!
Hmm... a King Tiger being captured intact? If I remember rightly, one of the 'Tigers in the Ardennes offensive was captured because a Sherman fired a phosphorous round at it, making the crew believe the tank was on fire - who then swiftly bailed out - to recreate that, you'd have to lose the zimmerit. Apart from that, I don't recall any KT being captured that hadn't already been abandoned due to lack of fuel and / or amunition. But I stand to be corrected!:)
As for Poser figures - I hadn't thought of that - thanks.:)

Really sorry for all of you who was waiting so long for any update, it was because I didn't have my own computer. Finally I have my new PC so I would like to try back to this project one more time.
I'm still busy at work and not always have power to work after work so I can't promise that I will be post update's often.

a small update. imo will be ok for matte work later and if I unhide all part's of tank you don't see a lot's of this elements so.. It's almost finish, I just need to 'collapse' a bit a colour pallete to marge it better with texture on wheels.
hope you like it.
