Simply beautiful. Reminds me of that movie Master and Commander.

Larsen: The poly count is, if I remember it correctly, 1.43 million. I could do it for less now though, although I would put more detail in so it probably would end up even higher!

The ship is beautiful...obviously a lot of time and attention taken...so please get a better texture for the wooden base! I think it detracts from the overall image.

Common, we want to see her float, finally! :D

Well before that happens, I need to make some people. Actually I quite fancy that idea. I might start on some low-ish poly people to put on the ship once I've sorted out the things I'm doing at the moment.

I really just wish that there was an easy way to rig the rigging (in the 3D sense) so that I could easily make changes... as it is, it is a really long process to get everything adjusted. I did start it a while ago, so perhaps I'll carry on with it and try and make a sea scene with her. I would like to, so we shall see what happens!

I remember you building this, and showing us on the Sci-meshes site. Still makes me shake my head in awe and wonder, still inspires.....

i love everything except the stand..
it is such a negative point of this entire render a bit more attention to realism there and u could have fooled me for a photo..

Yeah I know the stand is rubbish. I can't really be bothered making another render like this of her though because its not very interesting, and everyone (including me) wants to see her in the water. I do need to tweak that copper material though. It's much duller than what I originally came up with and doesn't look anywhere near as good as it did in this WIP render: http://www.prd-digital.com/viewupdate.php?id=121&do=full
