Another WIP.

Need some critical input/critcism.

What do you think of the zimmerit so far? Perhaps too smooth and bubbly?

So many variants of zimmerit I'm not sure which to stick with.

Yeah, it's definitely too smooth and bubbly. I'm not a tank expert, but all the zimmerit I've seen has also been much narrower and more irregular.

Thanks for the reply.

Another version, this one being alot more of what I'm looking for.

looks good so far, your zimmerit looks spot on too now. I'm not sure about the colour of your dots on the ambush scheme though, I think they were generally dunkelgelb on the darker patches. I'm also not too sure whether any ausf d's wore zimmerit and an ambush scheme at the same time either. Probably there were some that were hybrid machines or were repainted when returned to the factory for repair or modification, are you using a photograph of a particular machine as your reference?

Thanks for the comments guys.

digi,

I "thought" I was using a line drawing of a Panther Ausf A. Here's the pic I'm using.

Graf, I should of asked if you were using a photograph of a particular Panther Ausf A for your camo reference. Your Panther looks very accurate in its shape but I was wondering if you had a photo of a machine in those particular markings?

Oh sorry bout that. :)

Right now I am using a color profile taken from the New Vanguard(Osprey) book of the Panther tank. Most likely not very accurate but easily changed. :)

Was actually thinking of redoing the scheme entirely. I have A-J Press's Panther Tank Vol. 5 inbound to me as we speak.

Thanks for the heads-up. Wasn't exactly sure what Ausf A's were mainly painted. :)

Hi Graf! Looks great so far but I have one comment. The commanders cupula looks a bit flat :S Perhaps making the dark shading around the edges come in more and feathering it more as it does would make it look rounder :)

Thanks guys.

I'll be getting back around to the cupola after I finish the road wheels. There are a few minor inaccuracies as she is now so will be going back and solving them. :)

And on another note...progress on the outer road wheels.
