Hi

Always asking for something ;-), this time I wondered if anybody new of photos of a kit or scratch build of the German Lindemann gun casements from Normandy?.

I could really do with an isometirc or plan view of the turret itself rather than the casement structure.

I have seen a french scratch nuild online but the photos are way too small to be useful to me.

Any help would really be appreciated.

Cheers

Lee

P.S. I already have plans for the site itself, these are relatively easy to find, its the detailing thats proving to be a mare.

I once visited these batteries and made some scale drawings of the bunkers there (based on nothing but fresh memory), with the purpose of making a scale model of them. Unfortunately I haven't the faintest clue where those drawings could have gone. They're in a different country, that's for sure! :D

If you own a car, perhaps it's an idea though to drive over there one weekend and make some photos and drawings for yourself? Ferries are pretty cheap these days and it's a relatively short drive from Calais (probably shorter than from Nottingham to Dover!). Nice weekend away? There's plenty of interesting museums to visit there too :)

I wish I could get over there before the deadline, but I have three cutaways to produce in so many weeks, and the real stinker with mine is the Lindeman battery was destroyed and now sits under water in a pond the eurotunnel people built there as the tunnel goes right underneath it. I have found a site with a Norweigens photos of whats left half flooded and very dangerous to explore by the looks on things.

Thanks very much for the suggestions anyway. My wife would go for it if we could get the kids babsat and I took her to Paris after.....there goes the credit card. :-(

A whole week in France is still much cheaper than a weekend in Cornwall ;)
