View Full Version : Sunderland
one of my favourite aircraft on patrol over the pacific
I did this mostly in photoshop with a bit of LW just for shape/perspective reference
oops this should be in the 2D gallery seeing as LW was a very small part of the image

Nice image. You have certainly captured the look of the Sunderland quite well. There's enough in the image to show what you were trying to portray. A lonely patrol over a massive expanse of ocean.
Might be worth adding credits.....

And some more bumped up plating on the aircraft :) I think it looks way to smooth.
Other than that NICE image! :)

And some more bumped up plating on the aircraft :) I think it looks way to smooth.yeah I'd like that too but I painted this with just a mouse and I'm not really good enough with it to do the stuff like panels, hehe I should stick to 3D work :p

Ahhh...the flying porcupine....nice subject. I usually attribute this aircraft to patrols of the stormy north atlantic and north sea so it looks kind of out of place in a sunny ocean setting.
Really like the job you did with background. The plane looks pretty good too but needs more detail like suggestions of panel lines etc to bring it to life. More weathering also.
Overall...nicely done.

Love that plane too man... and very nice image!
Tho I have to agree about the weathering and stuff... but hey, i'd never get this far with a mouse:(
