I am starting a B-17 project and wanted to know if anyone out there might have some rendering pics they'd like to show off. It doesn't matter what program you used, I just want to see this magnificent plane in all it's glory! Any CG videos would be cool too.

Yes, I have one. I need to fix some things on it but I should be able to finish that tonight. I also have lots of links for sources if you like. Which version are you doing? Can't help you if it's earlier than F though.

It does? And I spent all this time making one myself ;).
Anyway, here's my latest render, as promised:

Looks good.. however your control surfaces have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much movment on them. That amount would probebly cause the aircraft to either stall and enter a spin.. or just rip its wings off:P otherwise.. its looking schweet!

You haven't seen me dogfighting in my Ju88 in IL2, controlled stalls are the way to go if you want to kill a Spitfire ;)

Thanks all! Yes, I would appreciate any references you could pass along.

I know, they show too much surface. The reason why I did that though is so I can show off the functionality of my model to my teacher. Don't worry, I'm a pilot myself and know that it doesn't need much to make your plane move.
Thank you for the compliment tough!
I have to go to class, but I'll post my reference links later.
edit: Actually, there's one maneuver where you have that much surface. I don't know the name in english, but we call it glissade. Ailerons and rudder are pretty much at the max, depending on how much altitude you want to lose. You end up flying sideways, it's so much fun! I fly sail planes though, don't think it's a conventional (and safe) method for power planes.

Well, I finished up earlier than I though. So here are my links. I have a few more for interior. Just let me know if you need more on a specific part of the plane. I'll probably have it.

Side-slipping, I think.
If you do reset those controls wouldnt opposite be better? Then he'd be picking up that wing and tightening formation with the others.

Yeah, that would make sense. I'm redoing that model anyway though, it's not as accurate as I would've liked due to the lack of modeling skills. This image really is just to show off the model to my teacher so he can see that I modeled it all and that it's functional. Thank you for the input!
