hey folks been a while since ive been able too work on this project..
luckily my boss needed a techdemo of a ship..
how fortunate.. so they've put me in charge of the ocean set-up wich will be fully animated ofcourse

this includes foam and wakes.

heres a taste of whats going to happen, a frame of my animation

dont mind the second render it still has an older ocean setup on it
smoke is also "old" it has better colour and depth now

animation will be done with dreamscape 2.5 they finaly fixed the issues i had with the earlier versions

Ok, you realise you're gonna have to share this technique with us....

Very impressive even for a test render.

Yeah ;)
strangly enough Dscape seems too have a better wave system than the onboard arete DNT off maya now

http://afterworks.com/animations.asp

first three render have been done with dreamscape 2.5

i didnt notice that they had made huge improvements over time... i had not thought of checking dreamscape update for quite some time

it still not perfect but i have to say that its looking too get rather good.
but flowlines still tops it, shame i cant get my hands on it.

Not bad for a plug in.
RF4 has my heart, though. The best waves and wakes I've seen. Just can't afford it.

Last months 3D World had a SE version of RF4 on its coverdisc.....

yep

i have it

its limited though it only supports 1 mil particles or something like that
so the calculationsize you have is severly cripled :\

Ah dreamscape....

http://www.pixelpushers-inc.com/php/animation.php?title=ngddx&no=2

used it to do this... in 5 days. including rendering... (and modeling and texturing... and lighting.. and animating...)

the only problem with Dscape, is that when you want to change the scale of the waves vis a vis your scene... you are so going to have to start over... it's a drag.

anyway...

yours looks like it's going to be way nicer....
