Hello everyone,

so I finally found my way to the sister page of SFM. Some may know me already from there.

My issue is Cinema 4d based. I've modelled a figure, organic in shape, as a low poly figure and laid down UV maps. The problem is, when I add the low poly figure into a Hypernurbs Object to apply a smoothing, the textures get all crumpy and stretchy.
Any ideas, how to fix that, without boosting the polycount sky high?

Try playing with the sub-division type. If you click on the hypernurbs object, change the algorithm to catmall-clarke (not Ngons) and select sub-division type as edge - that might help. Let me know how you get on.

Basically you need to do the mapping after subdivision, as otherwise you will always get some stretching. It's just the way subdivision works with UVs.

Actually, that does not apply to C4D. Lukem's suggestion is the way to go.
