Nice modelling! How did you build the hull as a matter of interest?

that looks quite good.. dont know that much about the ijn ships
things that strike me as odd would be the stabilizers.. they seem a bit too "thick"
and perhaps you should subdivide the hull a bit.. there are some points where you can see that its quite lowpoly

Great looking ship, hard to find information on Japanese ships and carriers of WWII as most of the photos and blueprints were destroyed just before the end of the war so you've done well to get this one completed.

what program are you using too render ?
im seeing some "bad" shadows.
multiple light setup i assume ?
