I'm am producing a 2D cartoon set in the Korean War that will require some 2 and a half D animation. 3D is one dimension more than I am comfortable creating, so I'm looking for some 3DS models of Korean war aircraft I can import into Swift3d, customize and bring into my somewhat flatter world. Nothing too highly detailed...I don't think Swift 3D could handle it. I think it has an upper limit of around 250k polygons, and I'd be happy with a tenth of that. Bonus points for working ailerons or speed brakes. I just need a basic model to build upon. It doesn't even need textures, since it will be exported as vectors for import into Flash.

My greatest need is for a Mig-15, although a Sabre with some movable bits would be better than the static one I have now. Anything else would be gravy. I may end up needing a B-29 or Twin Mustang (without the radar), but the jets are my big priority.

This is a garage production, so I can't offer a whole lot in return, but I would certainly give you screen credit and be happy to give you a copy of the DVD/Blu-ray when it is completed. I'll certainly do all I can to make it worth your while, but I have very little money. (I just blew what I had on Swift3D, which is already starting to feel like a large co-pay for a root canal)

The cartoon in question will be part of an established series of aviation-related cartoons that that you can learn more about at http://fritzthefox.com

Hi all, little background on this. I'm a raw blender noob, loaded 2.63 about a week and a half ago so that I could learn 3d. No previous 3d experience and not much of an artist. I haven't got a clue as to what I'm doing LOL. What I've picked up so far has been from Jonathan Williams (think that's his name) first four tutorials on BC. and surfing YouTube some. for the most part I am ignoring textures / materials atm till I can solidify the modeling. Hopefully this thread will help towards that end. I'm looking for help improving my skills but realize you guys may not want to invest any time in someone you don't know whether they will be around next week or not. I have no problem with this at all. My main interest is armor but after a false start on an M113 (thought the boxy shape would help me LOL) I went with this organic :D

Skills learned from this exercise so far. Loading image as plan to setup size view only (though I set up top, front, side and rear for the M113), Model started from cube mesh and all elements extruded. Then I started to tweek and delete parts and everything went to hell! as you can see I have surfaces missing etc. anyway this is where I'm at presently.

Greetings all! My name is Brandon and this is my first post here. Wanted to show off my first Military Mesh, and receive any feedback I can get.

This was completed at one point, as a finished shell, however someone wanted to use it for film project and needed an interior installed. In the process of fitting the interior I had to do some corrective work on the skin as well so it's back to being a wip unfortunately.

The outside, and thusly the rendered images, were completed in one month, from reference photos to render. Some details were left out due to time constraints, and some details are probably just plain wrong due to insufficient photo reference. This seems to be a tricky one to track down.

I may or may not revisit this project, as the client was happy with the finished product and I don't like dwelling on finished projects. But I just wanted to introduce myself, and become part of the community!

Hi Guys,
A group of Developers have merged to begin what we hope to be a long and propsperous career in game design. We each have experience working in either the gaming industry (a few members still do) or the modding scene.

We have a project underway now that we hope can launch us into the world, literally!

The project is called 1985 Red Tide. It is set during a fictional third world war, but is entirely fought from a maritime perspective. The Game in its initial release will pit the Royal Navy against the Soviet one, and should it be a success then we hope to include further navies as downloadable content.

I will list some of the features below that we hope will make 1985 Red Tides standout against other games of the same nature.

Realistic and well modelled ships.
We have a passion for military history, we literally love it, and we think that a lot of magic lies in the small details. We hope to offer all types of ship, with their historic uses.

Crew system.
Crews in The game are invaluable. When your vessels go down they abandon ship and must be transported via launch or helicopter to other vessels. Again later, you can transport them to other ships to up their complement, or prevent over crowding.

Submarines and Aircraft.
Its not a naval game, its a maritime one, and how better to portray this than Carrier based aircraft, as well as summonable land based AEW and Maritime patrol aircraft. On top of that, Hunter killer submarines and Ballistic missile subs, for when the battle can only be won with something a little more deadly.

Ship Boarding.
Using Marines, Naval Infantry and even Sailors to board poorly defended vessels and capture them.

Supply system.
Keep your Vessels fully crewed, armed and fuelled by Tanker, Supply ship and Helicopter.

Engulfing storyline.
Initially focusing on the protection of the North Sea Oil Rig, the evacuation of NATO's NORTHAG through The Hague, the Invasion of Lithuania, and finally the Catastrophic nuclear exchange, which starts in the skies above the North sea.

These are literally just a few of the features we hope to include in what we plan to be a completely immersive and action packed Arcade/simulator hybrid.

So what are we looking for?:
-3d Modellers with a passion for Military modelling!
-Animators with knowledge of vehicle and organic movement.

How to Apply?:
Just PM me, or email me, arpbarker (@) hotmail.com

What we aim to do:
Release this game in the direction of a publisher for funding for our next project. (which will in all probability be a continuation of this).

What platforms are we looking to utalise:
We are using the Unity engine. Full version will initially be PC, but we are also hoping to do an Android (lite) version.

How far are we in?
We have a playable build coded, we just need to start adding 3d art, sounds and polishing the code.

Thanks for your time guys

Anthony

I have to admit that I am not a panzer expert, so I am sure that some of the model is inaccurate. feel free to to crit.
