FREYA-LZ A (FuMG-401)

As I said over at mil-art, this is nothing particularly exciting, but at least I could spare a bit of time to start modeling something.

It is an early warning radar station used by Luftwaffe and Wehrmacht through out the whole war.

It'll sure come in handy for any future work as a background item, because as much as I would like to add more details, the references are so scarce that I simply can't. So if you should have any references for it or a similar Freya (+Würzburg-Riese for the next) I would appreciate it a lot.

Looking good Zorin. The thing is, if you really only want to use it as a background item, it probably does not neet to be as detailed. But I can imagin that there is not much refference indeed.

I have got one book in my collection, it has info on all major German radar stations including some photos for each, but no scale drawings or anything.

It does have interesting details about the german ww2 radarsites etc.

Thanks for the link. I already found that one, it's pretty comprehensive though, definitely worthy of being spread among the community.

As for the model itself, I'll share it with all who are interested to have it as a background item in there scene. There is no point in not sharing it with you lot.

Interesting subject. Im afraid you won't find bleuprints online or in books. Best shot I can think of is visiting the NARA archives or the Bundesarchiv in Germany.
